Mucci was an illustrator with the Fairfax (later Nine Entertainment Company) newspapers (retired 2016), Sydney, also working as a painter with works in the Archibald Prize, Blake Prize and the Doug Moran Portrait Prize. He also worked as a tutor at Wollongong University and the regional TAFE.
