sketcher, was possibly the daughter of the 'Mrs Rowe’ who won the prize for the best chalk drawing in the 1863 exhibition of the South Australian Society of Arts for Jepthah and his Daughter , although this could have been a misprint. At the society’s 1864 exhibition A. Rowe won the bishop’s second prize for a drawing by a pupil of Charles Hill 's School of Design with A Girl Spinning as well as Mr N. Blythe’s prize for a study of a head in crayons (both copies). At the 1866 exhibition Miss Rowe’s Female Figure won the prize for the most meritorious drawing by a pupil of the School of Design and she was commended as a 'persevering’ pupil, reinforcing the assumption that all were the one person.
