painter, won the prize for the best pen-and-ink drawing (original or copy) by a lady amateur in the 1868 exhibition of the South Australian Society of Arts. Of her exhibit Mind your Points the Adelaide Observer commented, 'the modulation of colour between the foreground and background is admirably managed’, so it must have been coloured with wash. At the 1870 exhibition Miss Hanson won second prize of 2 guineas for an original South Australian landscape in oils by an amateur.
