portraitist, art and French teacher, reached South Australia in the Frolic on 17 February 1850. He left for Western Australia on board the Champion on 25 May 1855. On 29 August 1855 he was offering 'lessons in French and Drawing; and will take portraits in Black Crayon, at Mr Farmer’s, Hay St Perth’. M. de Boullenois left for Ceylon (Sri Lanka) the following month on board the Avalanche . Two black crayon portraits are known in WA, one possibly of his Australian period and the other, on china, later in date.
