Mr. Butler exhibited his works in the meetings organised by the Brush Club.

painter, received a commendation for his coastal scene at the half-yearly meeting of the members of the Brush Club ( Illustrated Sydney News 25 October 1890, 16). He won second prize for an oil painting in the drawing competition open to junior members of the Brush Club on the occasion of their third annual meeting, held at the Royal Forester’s Hall ( Illustrated Sydney News 25 April 1891, 3).
