painter and designer, announced that he was a former 'Pupil of the School of Design, Somerset House, London’ (i.e. one of the Royal Academy Schools) when he advertised his forthcoming drawing classes in 'Architecture and Landscape’ at Hobart Town on 28 January 1854. Intending pupils were requested to leave their names at Pealey’s Book Repository in Murray Street where the classes were to be held every Thursday evening from 7 to 10 p.m. Miran also offered private lessons if desired. Nothing further is known of him.
