drawing teacher, advertised in November 1834 that during a period of limited residence in Hobart Town she would teach 'BREIDON’S new style of drawing’, adding that 'to acquire a proficiency in this novel and fashionable accomplishment, although a previous knowledge of drawing is desirable, it is not absolutely necessary that pupils should possess it. The art may be learned with common application in six lessons’. Prospective pupils were recommended to Dr Ross in Collins Street for samples and terms. In a second advertisement in January 1835 Mrs Vawser thanked the locals for their patronage and requested 'those ladies that feel disposed to avail themselves of the opportunity of learning her entire new style of drawing will please make early application, as her stay in Hobart Town will not be prolonged beyond a few weeks’. She added that specimens of her pupils’ work could be viewed at Warwick Cottage on the New Town Road.
