Born in the late 1940’s, Neville Poulson has painted intermittently for Warlukurlangu Artists since the mid ’80s. His traditional country is Pikilyi. He is an important figure in both Aboriginal ceremonial life and the Christian community at Yuendumu. Strongly committed to Aboriginal cultural survival in changed historical circumstances, Neville occupies several responsible positions in the community, and paints only occasionally for the painting company. He painted a mural for the local Yuendumu Baptist church as a Bicentennial project. His mother, Maggie Napurrurla Poulson, and his sister-in-law Clarise Nampijinpa Poulson, are also painters.
