professional photographer, had a photographic studio in the 'Medical Hall’ run by Dr Charles Henry Hardy at Maldon, Victoria, for some time during the 1860s. Dr Hardy dispensed drugs, patent medicines, vaccinations and advice for an hour every day and Jackson took photographs there, an innovation which seems to have been Dr Hardy’s idea.
