Victorian weaver, Patricia Harrsion, is of the Yorta Yorta and Gunai/Kurai people. She has stated in the book Tribal Expressions: The Business of Art and Culture in Indigenous Victoria (Ed, Jane Harrison), that she remembers travelling with her grandparents to go fishing, and that they would stop the car to “Cut some grass, sort it, sit by the side of the road and weave”. On one particular trip she says that her Pop said to her, “Get down here girl, and learn this”.
