Paul Bourke is a visualisation researcher at the University of Western Australia providing scientific visualisation services to researchers within the university and to external partners. During his career he has worked in organisations where he concentrated on architectural, brain/medical, and astronomy visualisation. Of particular interest are novel display technologies and how they may be used to facilitate insight in scientific research, increase engagement for public outreach and education, create immersive environments, and enhance digital entertainment. Paul Bourke is additionally the director of the iVEC facility located at the University of Western Australia. The facility hosts high performance computing resources on the campus and acts as an interface to the other high performance capabilities provided by iVEC. The facility also hosts display system in support of visualisation, scalable conferencing system, a teaching laboratory, high end workstations, and a video production unit.
