Peter Bainbridge is a multidisciplinary artist with a current focus on printmaking, producing silk-screen prints on handmade French cotton paper composed of popping colours and shining subjects. His straightforward approach typically pays homage to the simple things in life, including Australian icons and the idea of the ‘underdog’. The colourful characters and their pared-back nature melds poster aesthetics with a minimalist edge that celebrates the timeless fashion secret – less is more. Bainbridge’s vivid style, clever wit, and bold design have resulted in commissions from Le Grand Chateau in France, followed by an exhibition at Olsen Irwin Gallery in Sydney. He is represented by Angela Tandori Fine Art in Melbourne.
