cartoonist, was an angry Melbourne anti-capitalist cartoonist in the 1960s and 1970s, e.g. 'If They Want Their Land Back – We Want Our Beads And Flour!!’ (white male as screaming rat), Tribune 27 February 1973: reproduced in Christine Dixon (cover) and in Charles Merewether and Ann Stephen (eds), The Great Divide , Melbourne 1977, which includes other anti-capitalist cartoons by Dickie. He also drew Uncle Sam 'Hmm…’, Digger 28 July 1973 and illustrated an article in Overland 38 (March 1968), 4-5.
