cartoonist and journalist, worked as a cartoonist in Adelaide with his friend Pat Oliphant in the early 1960s. Oliphant, subsequently world-famous as a cartoonist, did a bit of writing while Luck, a journalist and writer, produced some cartoons, including two published in the Adelaide Advertiser c.1961: 'I wonder if the people of Australia have enough money to buy food, Rani’ (starving Indian commenting on withdrawal of Australian aid) and a gag about General de Gaulle as Napoleon. The originals, owned by artist, were included in Artists and Cartoonists at the National Trust S.H. Ervin Gallery in 1999, which Luck opened. Luck subsequently abandoned drawing for writing and broadcasting. Married to Penny, lives Balmain.
