freelance comic book artist, was born on 23 April 1925 at Cammeray, NSW. He studied illustration at ESTC under William Dobell , Lyndon Dadswell, E. A. Harvey, Douglas Dundas and Townsend [G. K. Townshend ?] and there met Phil Belbin . Working as a freelance, he drew for Frank Johnson (comics) and K.G. Murray (comic book covers) before joining Frew Publications in a freelance capacity. He remained for 12 years, illustrating about 200 comics, mainly adventure ones. When the comic book industry declined, he again worked as a freelance illustrator. In 1965 he was appointed a designer with John Sands, doing greeting cards, games and calendars. In 1973 he moved to the bush at Narrabri, where he built a house and a large studio on a small cattle property and continued to work freelance for the Horwitz group. He also taught at the local TAFE before starting up his own art school in 1989. He was still teaching, illustrating and painting on commission in the late 1990s. He has always mostly drawn adventure comics, including Phantom Ranger , Sir Falcon and Shadow .
