travelling photographer, advertised in the NSW Pastoral Times on 11 and 18 August 1859 that he had arrived at Mr Taylor’s Royal Hotel, Deniliquin 'with his complete Apparatus with all the latest improvements for taking PHOTOGRAPHIC LIKENESSES, BUILDINGS, COUNTRY SEATS, STATIONS, &c. in the most approved and efficient style’. He offered 'a perfect likeness, equal to any procurable in the Colony, guaranteed’. A large (whole-plate) ambrotype of the Conargo Hotel near Deniliquin (La Trobe Library) is attributed to him. In February 1861 Lewin was advertising that he was available to take portraits at Heathcote, Victoria.
