Renee Smith

Renee Smith of the Gamilaroi and Anaiwan language groups of NSW was a finalist in the 2005 Parliament of NSW Indigenous Art Prize. In 1997 she was named the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander of the Year by the ACT Vocational Educational Training Authority.

Gamilaroi/Anaiwan descendant, Renee Smith received a merit award from the School of Applied Arts and Design at the Canberra Institute of Technology in 1996 and in 1997 she was named the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander of the Year by the ACT Vocational Educational Training Authority.

In 2004 Smith exhibited her works at the Warrigal Arts Indigenous Gallery in Wollongong, NSW and the Belconnen Community Centre Gallery in Canberra, ACT. In 2005 Smith was a finalist in the Parliament of NSW Indigenous Art Prize.
