Painter and professional photographer, showed photographic views of the Heathcote district in Victoria, at the 1866 Melbourne Intercolonial Exhibition. An oil painting in the colonial section of the exhibition titled Pawnee Indian Attacked by Bears and attributed to R. Lee was possibly also his. In 1876 an R. Lee had a photographic studio at Charters Towers, North Queensland.
