Roderick Yunkaporta b. 1948

Roderick Yunkaporta was born in Aurukun, North Queensland and learnt the traditional carving techniques from watching his elders carve ceremonial objects. He began carving himself in the 1990s and has exhibited his milkwood carved animals both locally and in Europe and North America.
