Simon Hunt is an artist and musician whose work has encompassed a wide range of media including video, music and live performance. Since the mid 1980s, Hunt’s work has engaged with popular culture in a variety of forms, from Super 8 and video works to sound collages, soundtracks, dj performances, pop songs and music videos, often bitingly parodic and satirical in tone. Much of Hunt’s work has engaged with the aesthetics and politics of the gay community, both in Australia and overseas, and much of his better-known work has taken the form of the drag persona Pauline Pantsdown, a parody of right wing Australian politician Pauline Hanson.
