Born in the Torres Strait in 1942, Sipau Audi Gibuma learnt the craft of woodcarving and pearl shell working from his grandfather. He is also well known for his work as 'Mayngu dhoeri’ or headdress maker and he has one of these in the permanent collection of the Campbelltown Arts Centre in NSW.
