sketcher and engraver, drew and engraved a view of Government House, Sydney, on a set of illustrated notepaper printed by J.A. Engel in 1861. The Empire reported: 'A more correct representation of Government House and the grounds on the east side of it could not be desired. In addition to this, the execution of the engraving bespeaks, on the part of Mr. Peyton, a considerable amount of artistic skill. To persons writing to England by the mail, or corresponding with friends in the interior, this illustrated letter paper affords a cheap means of transmitting sketches of our principal public buildings’.
