Stephen Bush is the subject of the 5th Work in Progress series of exhibitions that explore the work of mid-career artists. Melbourne based Bush first gained critical attention in the late 1980s with paintings that appeared to encapsulate some of the central concerns of recent Australian art: history, national identity, originality and the effect of mass culture.
