  • fishel Jan. 25, 2015 Correspondence from Narelle DeBoos August 1, 2014: Susan Meade wrote a diary of her journey on the barque Caledonia in 1842, which she and Charles later reproduced and both illustrated and which is housed in the National Library in Canberra. She had initially illustrated her story as she travelled but the State Library said those illustrations are lost. Meade had also been Governess to Governor La Trobe's children, because she was fluent in French.
