Susan Wanji Wanji grew up in Maningrida where she learned bark painting and mat and basket weaving. In 1990, she began working at the Yikikinni Women’s Centre and developed a style influenced by both Tiwi and Arnhem Land cultures. Her work includes canvases, paper with ochres, acrylics or gouaches, limited edition lino prints and etchings, as well as Tunga (bark basket) work. She represented the Munipi Arts Centre in Paris in 1992.
