Terry Brooks is an interior designer who began private practice in Bowral ca.1973 under the name "Distinctive Furnishings", later opening in Sydney as "Distinctive Design". He was one of the first intake for the interior design course at Randwick Technical College. He later became president of the Society of Interior Designers of Australia ca.1984 and played a major role in advancing design education for the NSW TAFE.
