Born c. 1935 west of Central Lake Mackay, Timmy and his family came eastwards to the Haasts Bluff area when Timmy was a child, later travelling back into Pintupi territory. Timmy also visited Haasts Bluff as a young man, returning west again to bring in his wife and young child to Haasts Bluff. Part of the original group of painters at Papunya in 1971, Timmy moved to Kintore when it was established in 1981 and further west in the mid ’80s to Kiwirrkura, in whose establishment he had been a key figure. He resided there until forced to live in Alice Springs for renal treatment. He was a key figure for the important claypan site of Parrayilpil also the Lake Hazlett area further to the north. He painted Dancing Women, Dingo, Snake and Water Dreaming stories from this region. His work featured in the Dreamings exhibition which toured North America in 1988-9.
