Born at Haasts Bluff c.1942, he was the older brother of Barney Daniels , with whom he shared this country, close to their mother’s country in the Papunya/Napperby area. Timothy’s father was a Warlpiri speaker from the Lajamanu area. The artist gave his tribal affiliation as Luritja. Timothy received some schooling at Narwietooma station. He worked as a stockman then as a mechanic on bore maintenance before settling in Papunya in the early ’60s, helping in the transfer of people from Haasts Bluff to the new settlement. He was family to artist Mary Dixon . He lived near his traditional country on Five Mile outstation near Papunya and painted Centipede, Spear Ceremony, Barking Spider and Hunting for Kangaroo Dreamings, and painted occasionally for Papunya Tula Artists as well as the Centre for Aboriginal Artists in Alice Springs. He was married to Epingka Nangala and they had three daughters and a son. Epingka paints the Women’s Dreaming for her country at Haasts Bluff, and began producing occasional paintings in the mid ’80s.
