Born at Wayarria in 1935, he grew up at Wankari. He thinks he was a 'little bit crazy’ then. He could listen to his parents, but he still behaved like a little boy. Afterwards his mother took him to Areyonga. There he went to school to learn how to get a job. After that he went to Ammonguna and got a job there.[Interviewer’s paraphrase of Tommy David] He paints pictures of Kunia (Carpet Snake) and 'one girl’s footprints when she came from the cave’. Sometimes Tommy paints snakes and different tracks. He says he’s an artist 'in a small way’. He paints his own Dreaming, not those of anybody else. He now lives at Kaltukatjara community, Docker River. He knows artists at Kintore including Johnson (John John) Bennett , and Ronnie Allen, Bill Edimintja and Eddie Edimintja (Ediminja) at Docker River, though these last two paint very little now because of poor eyesight. Tommy is an evangelist in the Lutheran Church at Docker River.
