cartoonist, contributed cartoons to Adelaide’s monthly Lesbian Times in 1992-93, including “Oh my gawd … I’ve just realised I’m a lemon!” (a drawing of a lemon), Please dispose of your sanity thoughtfully (bathroom with a toilet and a 'sanity disposal unit’) and A Winter’s Tale, or, how dogs can ruin your sex life (a comic about a lesbian, her dog Gertrude and her lover Maya who is forced to sleep on the floor because Gertrude will not give up her place in the bed). In Lesbian Times (2/4), Ty wrote:

“I’m a cartoonist. I love colours. My idols are Claire Bretscher, Alison Bechdel and Barbary O’Brien.

“In my last year at school my teachers discovered I was good at sculpture. They banned me from doing anything else in Matric Art. So I promptly took up abstract oil painting.

“I want to continue cartooning and improve my style.”
