professional photographer, was working from a studio at 621 George Street, Sydney, in 1867, then moved to a room above Goulston’s drapery shop in Pitt Street about August. The building caught fire on the night of 22-23 September and all Magnus’s photographic apparatus and materials were completely destroyed.
