Born 'in the bush’ at Tarkatji, south of Lake Gregory near the Stansmore Ranges, c.1925, Albert Green lived at Mulan and began painting for Warlayirti Artists in 1989. A Kukatja tribesman, his traditional country was the Stansmore Ranges, and he painted Tingari and Two Women Dreamings for this region. The artist’s work employs a complex imagery, which is probably only fully understood by other initiated men. He tended towards understatement and his works have a soft 'natural’ look. They reflect the artist’s quiet manner and his lifetime of knowledge of Men’s Law.
