cartoonist, worked as a post-office clerk at Geelong in the 1890s. Left a lower middle-class diary (LT), full of slang, picnics, sport, bike-riding, etc. greatly embellished with hand-drawn cartoons. Died in his 20s, so it is a young person’s outlook, more 'cool’ and 'teenage’ than most surviving colonial diaries.
