Alexie Glass-Kantor, is the Executive Director of Artspace in Sydney, a position she has held since 2013.
She initially studied at the College of Fine Arts, UNSW, graduating with an honours Bachelor of Art Theory. In 2002 she relocated to Melbourne where she was employed initially as Curatorial Assistant at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image before being promoted as a curator in 2004.
In 2005 she became the Asialink Curator In-residence at Ssamzie Space, Seoul. After completing the Asialink Leadership Program in 2006 she returned to Melbourne where she was appointed Director-Senior curator at Gertrude Contemporary, a position she held until 2013 when she relocated to Sydney and Artspace.
In 2012, with Natasha Bullock, she was co-curator of the Adelaide Biennal of Australian Art, Parallel Collisions. Her close involvement with contemporary art has led her to be the curator for Art Basel|Hong Kong from 2015 to 2018.
In addition she is a major contributor to policy and governance in contemporary art. From 2010 to 2013 she was a board member of NAVA and in 2015 was appointed Chair of Contemporary Art Organisations Australia. including being a member of the Academic Board of the National Art School from 2015 and a board member for the Museum of Art and Design, Manila.
