Alice Hinton-Bateup was born in 1950 in South Sydney. She trained in fabric and silk screen printing at Garage Graphics in Western Sydney and began working for this organisation in 1983. In 1986 she exhibited in 'Urban Koories’ at the Workshop Arts Centre in Sydney and in 1987 was included in 'Shocking Diversity’ at the Print Council of Australia in Melbourne. She has work in the collections of the National Gallery of Australia, Sydney’s Powerhouse Museum and the Flinders University Art Museum.
