Alison McDonald’s 20-year practice sits at the junction of sculpture, consumer culture and environmental concern and ranges in size from microscopic jewellery to epic sculpture.

Her work has been shown at; Sculpture by the Sea, Strand Ephemera (winner in 2015), Royal Melbourne Zoo and is in collections of Royal North Shore Hospital, CQ University, Energy Super, Monterey Bay Aquarium, , Perc Tucker Gallery, Stadiums Queensland and Townsville University Hospital.

McDonald holds a BVA (Hons) from JCU and a Masters of Art in Public Space from RMIT, Melbourne. Later teaching sculpture at JCU and TAFE. She has also been artist-in-residence in Aberystwyth, and twice at RedGate, Beijing. She recently had a national solo travelling exhibition Wanton, Wild & Unimagined around Australia to 13 galleries.
