Late colonial and Federation-era political cartoonist. Ambrose Dyson was part of an extended artistic family that included his brothers of Ted and Will Dyson, brothers-in-law Lionel and Norman Lindsay and son Ambrose "Amby" Dyson. A successful cartoonist and illustrator in his own right, Dyson's early death at age 37 was attributed to a combination of alcoholism and syphilis.
