sketcher, was born in Van Diemen’s Land on 12 September 1831, second daughter of Edward Dumaresq (1802 1906) and his first wife Frances Blanche, née Legge. She died of tuberculosis in her home at Illawarra on the Norfolk Plains (Tas.) on 11 October 1848, aged seventeen. A wash view of a romantic castle on a mountain above the sea (1848, private collection), annotated 'One of our angelic Amelia’s last Drawings’, is a conventional, but unusually competent, young lady’s drawing book copy. She is buried in the family plot in the churchyard of Christ Church of England, Illawarra, near Longford.
