Details of Andy Fencer’s birth are sketchy, but he was a very old man, perhaps over seventy years of age, when this information was collected. Of the Warlpiri language and tribe, his country was Yarungkanyi, out near Perunta, an outstation of Lajamanu. He lived at Lajamanu and started painting in 1986.
