Belinda Ireland was born in an industrial town and raised in the red bits of Australia. Surrounded by the suicidal machinery of mining, Eastern Europeans hiding from the KGB, and culturally earthed Indigenous Australians, Belinda was the transplanted ghostly kid looking for a connection with broken peers and the shredded environment.

Physically based in Perth, Belinda’s images focus on the joys, miseries, and mysteries of (a currently human) existence in a becalmed suburban environment. Looking for enlightenment in the mundane as well as abandonment in fantasy, Belinda’s images involve colour, children, strangers, and the machinery of mass transportation.
