A bride dressed in white stands in a field blanketed with flowers & green. Dancers reach for the sky in a symbolic bid for freedom while a young girl learns how to surf the waves of Cox’s Bazar. This is Bangladesh and it’s all rather unexpected. It is east and west not meeting but rather colliding in an explosion of change brought on by social media’s reach and the hopes and dreams of a new generation. While some images remain routed in Bangladesh’s traditional culture, globalisation is ever more apparent.
