Born near Jupiter Well, c. 1930, Brandy was living at Mulan and Christmas Creek until the early 1990s when he moved to Kiwirrkura and began painting for Papunya Tula Artists. His country lies around Jupiter Well and he usually paints Tingari stories and Emu Dreamings for this area. He started painting in 1985 at Balgo and sold his work through Warlayirti Artists, whose coordinator at the time, Michael Rae, commented, “Brandy enjoys working on large canvases where his simple, yet dramatic designs have their maximum impact. A quiet man, steeped in Aboriginal Law, his works evoke something of the majesty and mystery of the men’s ceremonial life.”
