cartoonist and postcard artist, drew cartoons for the Arrow and the Australian Sunday Times during the Boer War, according to Greenwall. A series of four cartoons by Taylor were reproduced in the Black and White Budget on 10 May 1900. Entitled 'Some Australian cartoons on the war’, they comprised: 1. Wily Kruger , 2. Fancy Meeting You! 3. The Advent of a Nation and 4. Finis .
He was also a sought-after postcard artist, according to Greenwall, so may be G.A. Taylor, certainly the most likely 'Taylor’ to have signed a postcard of a barefooted, elderly Aboriginal man with outstretched hand entitled A “Rum” Customer/ “Gib it Rum Boss” c.1908, in the SLV’s Australian artists postcard collection. There is some speculation that Taylor may have been an associate of Benjamin Minns , a well-known cartoonist and illustrator who drew a number of cartoons featuring indigenous characters.
