A London-born photographer who arrived in Melbourne in 1886. He had a studio in Little Collins Street, 1888–-1897; Johnston Street, Fitzroy, 1898-1900; and Elgin Street, Carlton, 1900-–1901.

The album contains 58 photographs of Melbourne believed to have been taken in the spring or summer of 1888–1889 and six photographs of Sydney, in a smaller format, presumed to have been taken later. Albums of Walker’s work are also held by the State Library of Victoria and in two private collections.
