engraver, printer, publisher and businessman, came to Victoria from North America in 1856 and settled at Castlemaine, where he worked as a bookseller, printer and publisher. He married Miss J. Curle in 1858. At the 1861 Victorian Exhibition, Glass showed copies of the Castlemaine Almanac and Directory (which he published) for 1862-63 (sic) and 'two views of Castlemaine in 1861’. The latter were undoubtedly engraved from his own drawings, for the catalogue described Glass as their 'producer, designer, printer and publisher’. He moved to Melbourne in 1867 and opened a mixed business, including an agency for sewing-machines. Glass died on 3 August 1911.
