Colonial male watercolourist who travelled around South Australia and Queensland in 1868 as part of a world tour. Allen painted landscapes as he went and on returning to London wrote an unillustrated memoir about the Queensland goldfields.
World Cat, Library of Congress, name authority file, Ancestry com information has established that the author Chas. H. Allen, F.R.G.S. of the A visit to Queensland and her goldfields, London 1870 is the same person. -
