sketcher, drew a pencil sketch of a line of Chinese men travelling in the Australian countryside (La Trobe Collection, State Library of Victoria, Melbourne). It looks like a reversed and cruder version of the endless line of Chinese en route to the gold diggings by S.C. Brees , except that the major emphasis is on the Chinese figures and there is almost no detail of the countryside apart from a few trees (image reproduced Sydney Morning Herald , 30 March 2001, p 13).
