sketcher, drew a pencil sketch of a line of Chinese men travelling in the Australian countryside (La Trobe Collection, State Library of Victoria, Melbourne). It looks like a reversed and cruder version of the endless line of Chinese en route to the gold diggings by S.C. Brees, except that the major emphasis is on the Chinese figures and there is almost no detail of the countryside apart from a few trees (image reproduced Sydney Morning Herald, 30 March 2001, p 13).
