Sculptor, born Victoria and trained at the National Gallery School, Melbourne. He was a foundation member of the Yarra Sculptors Society. His terracotta Head of Bacchus 1899 was shown in the Society’s second annual exhibition in 1899-1900, cat. 134 (offered Sotheby’s Melbourne 30 April 2002, lot 133, est. $3,000-4,000), along with the marble bust of a woman – his faourite model Mabel Anne Woodstock, whom he married on 7 May 1917 (lot 134, col. Ill. est. $7,000-9,000). A bronze version of the latter, dated 1916, is in the McCllelland Gallery, Langwarrin, Victoria.
