Charlie Wallabi walked in to Balgo with his family while still a young boy and grew up on the settlement. He moved to Kintore in Pintupi country and lived there or back at Balgo till the mid ’80s when he married Josephine Nangala and came to live in Kiwirrkura, closer to his traditional lands. He began painting for Papunya Tula Artists in the new community of Kiwirrkura in about 1987, depicting Tingari stories around Jupiter Well, including a Snake story.
